Inventive, Progressive & Revolutionary? It must be Aquarius Time!
The Sun Enters Aquarius on 20th January. Aquarius is the 11th and penultimate sign of the Zodiac circle and benefits from being ruled by the Yin and Yang of planets, Saturn and Uranus and being influenced by the Element of Air.
Saturn is what I call the ‘sensible’ influence – it’s all about consolidation, grounding, self discipline and learning through painful experiences. It reminds us of responsibility, commitment and maturity, all laced with a good dose of realism – accepting our own limitations with grace and wisdom.
Whereas, after the realistic limitations of Saturn, it’s refreshing to come across the progressive, whacky and revolutionary influences of Uranus. This planet reaches way beyond realistic limitations and allows for thoughts and inventions way ahead of its time! It must be Aquarius time!
The symbol for Aquarius is the Water Carrier, providing water for humanity without which we would be unable to exist. This energy is inventive, eccentric and humanitarian. It combines unpredictability with realism. This is the true free spirit, the non-conformist and the seeker of change. This energy is the ‘outsider’ looking in with lateral thinking at its heart.
With the Element of Air influencing this sign, here we meet the detached, logical thinker with futuristic ideals; the anarchist, the reformer and the maverick striving for equality with real vision. Aquarius is the peacemaker, diplomat and arbitrator engaging tolerance and fairness in equal measure. This is an electrically wired energy that loves parties and people but has real difficulty in expressing its own personal feelings.
Some of my favourite musicians/singers have Aquarius strong in their astrological DNA, some sadly no longer with us; they include:
Bob Marley, Robbie Williams, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Phil Collins, Sam Cook, Michael Hutchence, Justin Timberlake and Smokey Robinson all with their Sun in the sign of Aquarius.
John Lennon, Tom O’Dell, Kate Bush and Melanie Brown with their Moon in the sign of Aquarius
and David Bowie, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Janis Joplin, Cyndi Lauper, Andy Gibb and Tammy Wynette with their Ascendant in the sign of Aquarius.
You can see the Aquarius energy in all of these people even though they may not have Aquarius as their Sun sign (commonly known as Star sign in the popular press). Take John Lennon and his song ‘Imagine’ for example and David Bowie with ‘Life on Mars’ both with Aquarius strong in their astrological DNA – one in their Moon sign and one in their Ascendant sign. It’s knowing all three of your signs that allows you to gain a much deeper understanding of your true potential.
